Dance Shoes.
When you start salsa dancing in Sydney, the usual question is, do you need to get proper dance shoes to learn how to dance?
The answer is. No, not really, it helps, but shoes don't make the dancer. Your skills are what actually make you look good on the dance floor.
Now having said that, shoes do help you to make it more comfortable and obviously to look good.
So when you are out to buy some proper shoes, start with a low cost on your first pair to test them out. As you get better you can go and search for a more higher quality and fancy pair when you have gain some good skills.
The worse thing you could do would be to buy a $300 pair, destroy them by practicing all the wrong movements on them, thinking that a better shoe will make you a better dancer.Your first pair will be like your training shoes. They will get worn out.
Shoes are like accessories. They make you look good, they make you feel good, but they don't make your skills in dancing.
